Evernote App Reviews

This used to be a fabulous app, and in most respects it still is. But over the past few weeks it’s become a syncing nightmare. In my case, it’s between the OS X version and the iOS version for iPad. Working on one long document in particular, every day seems to bring new “surprises,” as in “didn’t I write about that yesterday? Where did it go?” When I search within the file, I find it’s in a "conflicting changes” addendum I didn’t even know existed. It’s fine that Evernote switched to that would-be reconciliation method from the old one (preserving the different unsynced versions of a file), but I didn’t get the memo. Worse, now that I’ve defensively taken to manually saving and syncing before moving between devices, sync discrepancies are still popping up. As I write this I’m trying to figure out how to adapt to this new order, or disorder.

There is so much to commend in this app. Love that it integrates with lots of other applications as well as making life easier with addons such as web clipper, etc. I have neem using it since it’s inception and pay for the upgrade. I like it that much.

Hey, So ya, this review is not just the the one Evernote app, but it’s for Evernote the company. They make several apps, like Skitch and Scannable. Sweet. First Evernote. The flagship. Love it. Been with them from the beginning 2008. Honestly it sat dormant for the first several years. I didn’t know or didn’t have a use for it perhaps. But in the past several years it just took off for me. Just the shear ease of use, email to evernote was the deal clincher for me. So simple, since everything is email. But since then, I use the chrome plugin for web clippings (love it!). I use stacks for organization. I went premium finally after 7 years only because they offered me this one time sweet deal out of the blue for something like $30 for the year to go premium. So i bit. Love it. Scannable. Love it. All my docs now are scanned, tagged and OCR’d (in the back end) for searches. In this digital age, how can one live without this feature? Skitch, just started using this. I was in a meeting, and whipped out skitch made a mark up, showed my client and hit sync. Voila! live on the cloud for us to collaborate.

Rely nice and handy. Can do everything I want on it >w<

Evernote is one of the best apps, if not THE best app I have. I use it for everywhere, always, for everything.

I love Evernote! I keep all my sheet music in it and share it with fellow musicians. The one critisism I have is with the not so WYSIWYG text editor, but this is a minor issue in comparison with what the app. delivers. Thank you Evernote team!

Please, please change the notebook color back to Brown. They are a wierd clear, see through color or white. One version had a cool brown look and the ‘stacks’ had a white band. The look was so sharp. Everything else is fantastic!!

Great productivity tool!

I’m a brand new Evernote user (couple of days) and thus far it’s doing what I need. I’m using both the web and Mac application to view/edit/delete notes and sync is working well thus far. Tags can be applied quickly and searched upon. The only item I can’t do on the Mac app (or I haven’t figured out how to yet) is nest tags. I currently have to do this on the web version.

Great app, but unfortunately this latest version continues to crashes whenever I open it from my Desktop, just like the last version. Haven’t been able to use the app for quite some time. Needs to be fixed ASAP!

This app is amazing. I keep all my notes in it. Syncs perfectly and I get all my notes everywhere I am. One of the key and essential apps on my mac!

They should really fix this. I cant get any work done because it keeps crashing.

Ive been using Evernote for 4 years and have a great number of documents in differnet formats and it handles them with ease. Other porgrams have come along but evernote is my go to app for staying organized at all times.

The new update causing the app to crash every 2 minutes. Very disappointed.

Have luvd this appliation since it was first laucnhed and still Do! For ease of use, function and form it’s hard to beat!

I am a long time user, using Evernote for quick and short notes but I find its main strength is as a digital filing cabinet.  I file everything in my life in Evernote.  If I have any paperwork I scan it and file it in Evernote.  I mostly use an external scanner, but the app can also use the camera to import documents. There are a lot of complaints about lack of word processing/spreadsheet/calendar features.  If I need to do more extensive work, I use other apps and store the file in Evernote. Note also that the software is free, and available on various platforms.  The data is syncd between your devices. The desktop platforms (Windows and Mac) have extended features. They offer a premium (paid) service that offers additional features.  People also complain bitterly about that; they think these features should be free.

Well it says is free, but you can’t even use local files, or work offline, you need to pay… useless.

As Evernote gets increasingly desperate to boost their income, the app has become incredibly annoying with random popups to try to get you to upgrade to Premium. Im now looking for an alternative and cant wait to stop using this garbage.
