This app serves a lot of my note-taking and -organizing needs, even with just the free version. It accomplishes everything, from cross-platform syncing, to audio, photo and drawn notes, to being able to organize them into separate notebooks. MY ONLY BEEF is how unaesthetically pleasing it is. I know some people prefer simplicity, but I’d love it if the notebooks were more customizable aesthetic-wise. so that when you’re looking at them in card view, they aren’t quite… boring. Honestly, as spoiled as this sounds, this factor was almost enough to completely drive me away from the app, but there is nothing better out there on the market for my needs.
This app is my everything. I depend on this app so much that I may actually inquire about the legality of marrying a mobile app. You complete me, Evernote.
I use Evernote daily. I pay for the premium membership and use it mostly to store articles and important notes I know I’ll want to use later. In short I find it a great service and worth paying for. However the shortcuts for changing the font size on Mac are standard across every app I use (⌘= and ⌘-). I would be hard pressed to find an app that breaks from this standard. So I am not sure which productivity app you are refering to (MS Office?). It is fine if you want to change the shortcut on a Windows version to match what they do there, but don’t mess with standard OS shortcuts on the Mac. When I want to change the font size I trust that the application is going to do the right thing. BTW there is a standard for Zoom on the Mac as well. Pinch to Zoom and ⌘>, ⌘< Thankfully on a Mac I can override your changes back to the system standard via System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts.
Why is it that some of my notes decrypt with my password, whereas some do not and just stay as is after entering the password. It works online, however, the app is not responding at all or not working. Please, fix this or it makes it almost unuseable for me.
Everything as said by reviewer “Fall in Love with Apple” The latest change to the shortcut key are NOT OS X standards. Please stay with standard OS shortcut key mapping. Thank you.
I used to be able to open note windows in my desktop while using the app in fullscreen mode. However, this is no longer possible, which requires me to exit fullscreen mode whenever I need to take notes on a document I’m reading on my computer.
- can’t you just stop vectorizing my handwriting and just save it as bitmap? (or at least let me have the control of how much stroke smoothing I want) - text annotation is very buggy, causes Evernote to crash frequently. - hope the awesome pdf annotation functionality of Notability could be implemented.
Text handling in Evernote has always been a bit on the glitchy side compared to any decent text editor, and the persistence of some minor but obvious bugs through many versions is really wearing on my nerves. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it’s disappointing and annoying.
This program has saved hundred if not thousands of pieces of paper in my work enviroment. I have put dozen’s of people onto this for a daily note taking tool, as someone that is attached to his phone and mulitple computers ( home and work ) it has help my productivity immensley.
Simple and intuitive user-interface, great search function that searches in attached docs and images!
Evernote is my to do list for everything and anything! If I have to write a quick note to myself, e.g. a grocery list, an address to remember, a Christmas shoppinig list, you NAME it! I even keep my waiting list for my clients in Evernote! And it syncs beautifully and quickly with my iPad an even my Blackberry! Really reliable and available all the time! Gone are all my strips of paper list which I could never find anyway. Oh yes! Also awesome for taking notes!
Hands down, the best productivity tool I use to get my work done
I have been using Evernote for about 3 years now. I moved quickly from the free to the annual subscription. I have used other similar tools, but Evernote is so versitile and accessible across all my technology, that I constantly have access to my materials. The updates have been seamless, and I love how easy it is to do what I want. My only suggestion is to adjust the highlighter, so it can move in a straighter line, and provide a range option for the transparency of the colour.
They’ve recently updated their terms, including limiting accounts to two devices and increasing fees for paid accounts. Ensure that it will be useful for you with the new terms. I’ve uninstalled it for the native Notes application in anticipation of iOS 10. Microsoft and Google also have possible free alternatives.
Wow, I really liked evernote, but now, they are reducing the amount of devices you can use… looks like I’m gonna be using the native Note app… Adios Evernote… that was a bad move.
I’m Cancelling my subscription and moving to another service. Unresolable price hikes and limitations for the free account is, in my view, nonsensical when no new relevant freatures are offered. I’m done with evernote.
you have got to be kidding me. how is this supposed to help my productivity? terrible move. i don’t even want to use this app anymore.
Was forced to remove this application from all but two devices. I’ll switch to a better note taking application without that restriction.
With the new restrictions on free accounts, using Evernote has become far less appealing.
