Evernote App Reviews

New to Evernote and liking it

I’m an orphaned NoteBook ( Circus Ponies ) user. That company went out of business suddenly without any explanation. While the software still works on my iMac ( OS X only application ), I looked around for a substitute. Since I used NoteBook for its note taking feature ( what they called Writing Pages ), Evernote seemed like a good replacement. I checked the reviews and they agreed. I’ve transferred about a couple of hundreds of notes already by cutting and pasting or dragging and dropping content. It was a little time consuming, but this wasn’t unexpected or difficult. There are many things to like about Evernote: ease of use, lightning fast searches of notes, the nice formatting, the ability to drop in PDF’s which can then be scrolled through within the note, the ability to create notes on my iMac, or my PC within their app or in a browser and seeing the note appear on all devices, sending email messages into a notebook, etc. What I found lacking so far is the inability to encrypt individual notes and to password protect notebooks. It’s not sufficient to encrypt some highlighted text. I’d like to be able to password protect Notebooks as a minimal security feature. I’d like to encrypt sensitive ( e.g. financial, medical ) information which may include text, documents, screen shots, etc. I’d be happy to have this feature even if I could only access such notes from within their app. This is a pretty big deal for me and I’m surprised that Evernote lacks such a basic, important feature. Otherwise I’m liking this application so far.

I LOVE THIS APP!

It’s my goto everyday. I love the ease of use and it has become my extended longterm memory. From little reminders, to decorating ideas to keeping up the all the details of managing 3 homes and 2 businesses. Could live without it!!! I wish one thing. I wish that EverNote would purchase Notability and ToDo Cloud and combine the best features of all of them into one fabulous product. Each product has great features when combined they would knock competitors out of the parl. Still loving EverNote and still wish they had somesort of PHONE support for Premium users.

I couldn’t get along without it!!

I save just about everything and don’t use all of its capabilties. It works flawlessly and is always there. I can find exactly what I need when I need it. It is available on all my platforms.

Awesome app-can’t live without it.

Been using it for many, many years on Mac, PC, iPhone, iPad. It continues to get better and better. Synching is stellar, but sometimes company VPN blocks it. This is a life-changing app. I share notes and notebooks with coworkers, contractors, customers, etc. My two issues: Sometimes when Mac is running slowly, I start to type a title of a note, then the cursor moves or highlights everthing that has already been typed in mid-type and therefore erases it all when the next character is typed. Spelling auto-correct is also a bit slow to learn intentions. …but this is a cant-live-without application. A life changer. Thanks Evernote!

Love it and have used it for many years!

I’ve been using Evernotes since a very early version. I use it as my second brain! I store my life events, maintenance records, birthday lists, holiday card lists and a great many more such notes. If I had to go back to a paper version I’d have to carry around a massif notebook and searching would be almost nonexistent. At 2475 notes, I can still search and find most notes in seconds. Love Evernotes and been a Premiun user for year. I have it on my MAC, iPhone, iPad and like that if in a pinch I can use a web browser also.

I use it every day

Evernote is great! I use this app and the desktop application at work for all my notes. The camera function is great because of its ability to import information from my customers cards accurately. I have purchased the notebooks sold by Evernote and have found them to work just as advertised. I also use Evernote for my work at my church to track receipts for various expenses we have. I share a folder with my wife so we can both add files that we want to be able to see from our phones or computers. I am a premium user and do not plan on changing that anytime soon.

Best note taking app hands down!

I use this app for work and for recreational writing purposes on my Mac and iPhone and I would deffinitely reccomend it. I need an app that syncs over all my iOS and OSx devices becasue I am constantly starting projects while at work and then finishing things on the computer. I have tried many other note taking apps but this is the only one that I have stuck to for 3+ years. It’s not confusing and is very simple and strait forward in functionality. It hasn’t ever crashed on me and is very reliable.

I love Evernote

Use it every day for logging journals, keeping recipes, writing notes for work, etc.

Great!

This is the best of apps. It is easy to save any information in any category you want to name. It is also great for clipping web pages or information on the web page. Also like being able to forward emails to the right category for saving. This is one terrific note taker.

I might be lost without Evernote

This is the one app I use everyday. My life runs smoother and my head is clearer with Evernote in my life. Simply intuitive and powerful. Thank you Evernote Team!

Wonderful Tool- but with a catch

I first started using the app on my laptop. It works great; better than when I work on the website, and I have access to more tools. There is one issue. When I use it, it messes with the WiFi and creates problems for me and anyone trying to access the Internet. So now I have to avoid using Safari while I using the app, which is a problem because sometimes I need to access url links to post into my notes.

Rock solid notes app

I’ve been using Evernote for years. I picked it to replace the Notes app on my old Palm Pilot. Evernote is rock solid, syncs seemlessy between my iPhone iPad and Mac. I have never had a syncing issue, it just works.

Amazing web clipper

I do debate, and it is necessary to constantly be able to access articles on various topics offine. The Evernote webclipper can tag and save a simplified version of any article in a matter of seconds, automatically tag key words, and get rid of main ads. The amount of storage provided with the free version is definitely enough, and the ability to share notebooks means that all my friends and I can share the articles. When used with Feedly, debate is easy as possible.

Love it!

Even the free version is perfect. I have been using it on my mac for about a year now (my first year of college) and haven’t had any issues. I can share my notes with friends, read them on my iphone, and I love to annotate images and diagrams that I pull from my profs presentations. Very easy to use and get the hang of. 10/10 would recommend.

Great - needs updates

I use this app a lot and for collecting sites, image and files and for the most part it’s great. I’m really disappointed with the commenting and markup tools though. The PDF highlighter doesn’t select the text, so the wahsed out highlight color is really hard to apply in a clean fashion. Commenting in Evernote put the comments to the top of the note, which is great, but I end up highlighting my PDFs in Acrobat so they aer actually readable and useful, and then I lose that feature. Good tools for marking up ALL the different types of documents within Evernote should be essential, especially for the subscription price. Otherwise, it’s good. Syncing is mostly reliable, though my iphone doesn’t always update.

I use Evernote every day

Evernote has become one of my ‘install immediately to get a functioning system’ applications. I use it all the time for work, personal stuff, etc. I like the iOS syncing and use that a lot too. One thing that would be nice to have would be the ability to draw in notes on the Mac application like you can with the iOS one.

app is very very slow, version 6.5 on OSX 10.10.5

Since January 2016 this app has been super slow. Spinning balls on simple operations like opening a note. Also, even when turning sync to manual, it syncs anyway. (Why have an option if its not going to get paid attention to?) Usually Evernote is great that when something goes wrong, the next release fixes it. But it appears this one is not going away soon. Premium user since 2009. If you are like me and use this everywhere, you’re stuck until this buck gets high enough on their priority list to fix. If not, don’t start using it, figure out something else (or don’t use the Mac version).

Essential to me

Ubiquitous note app that ticks all the boxes for me.

Best app for business!

If you’re looking for an app that will save you a lot of time and save money on buying expensive CRM applications, you should try Evernote first. It’s certainly a time saver and very useful.

Great app! Reservation about losing the familar zooming shortcuts

I use Evernote everyday to take notes at work and keep record of things at home. I love the app and wish to thank the developers for the great user experience. My only disappointment with this latest update is the loss of the shortcuts “⌘+” and “⌘-“ for quickly changing the font size. The new shortcuts are “⌘>“ and “⌘<“.But in order to get the “>” and “<“ characters, you have to also press down the “shift” key, i.e., you have to use three fingers. When you press three fingers on the keyboard at the same time, you need a lot more coordination than when you use two fingers, hence slowing you down. Any chance to change this back to “⌘+/-“?
