Steady downward decline in capability
I started using Evernote several years ago when I went to the MAC OS. At the time, it was the greatest note taking app ever. The interface was simple and easy to use. They even gave me my own personal Evernote email address to which I could forward emails I received and the content would be automatically loaded into Evernote. Great for capturing important information easily. Then, the downward spiral started. Unless you were an Evernote Premium user, you could no longer use the Evernote email forwarding feature. So, I lost that capability. Next, they took away multiple device access (more than 2) to Evernote unless, you guessed it, you were an Evernote Premium user. So, I reluctantly upgraded to Premium. However, I have since found a comparable product that has a better user interface, allows me to organize my notes more logically into groups of folders / sub-folders, and doesn’t nickel and dime me to gain additional capability. While this other product may not have all the bells and whistles of Evernote, Evernote has overestimated the value of the capabilities they’ve added. I’m not interested in the capabilities they offer nor do I want to pay extra for them. Unless something positive changes at Evernote, and soon, I’m going to be going to a new note taking application that doesn’t “bait and switch” me on their capabilities or ask me for more and more money.
